Carlos Amaran



At the age of 12, young Carlos stunned habanera audiences by performing the legendary Ramona with the Amadeus Roldan symphony Orchestra. Under the guidance of Cuban-Italian Masters such as Laino Lopez, he learned to combine his passion for classical music with traditional Cuban rhythms.


In his twenties, Carlos was the musical director of the Vision Band in Havana, a time during which his knowledge of Latin Jazz and other styles continued to evolve & become part of his repertoire. In the late 1990s, Carlos joined Latino Vision ,with a group of Cuba’s finest young musicians that included Fernando Soria, Emilito Valdes ,Jorge Quiala and others. Since then Carlos has toured worldwide and shared the stage with master musicians such as Chucho Valdes and Irakere; and has now settled in Toronto where he has become a respected member of the city’s thriving ‘’Havana North’’cultural.
